Who am I?
Welcome to my Blog. I'm Pamela, a graduate of The University of Rochester, an alumna of Chi Omega, a watcher of way too much TV, a follower of fashion, a lover of dogs, a follower of Chrissy Teigen, a student of science, and obviously a creator of lists.

What's in A name?
Contrary to William Shakespeare, everything.
PamSplaining came to be when my absolutely hilarious friend & colleague (I feel like I am old enough to have those now) asked for a definition of mansplaining. Of course the simplest and probably most effective thing to do would have been to utilize the greatest gift to the universe, i.e. google, and locate an accurate definition. But that makes too much sense so naturally I read him the riot act. Suffice it to say, I gave an elaborate 15 minute description, examples included. His response, "so what you're dong right now". Hence the birth of a verb all my own, PamSplaining.
What am I up to?
I am originally from the Boston area, spent the past 2 years in Washington, DC, and I just recently moved to Hoboken, NJ (you can take the girl out of New England but you can't take the New England out of the girl). I just started my PhD in Microbiology - if I am feeling pretentious then Infection, Immunity, and Inflammation - at Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (ask me a question about antibiotic resistance and I'll explain to you more than you ever wanted to know). I will be living this life for the next 5-7 years, keeping my fingers crossed it will actually be 4, so I am happy to have you following along. When I was in DC my favorite activity was Protesting, Brunching, Protesting and I'm basically in NYC so maybe that is something I can maintain.
