So I got a new Voxbox in from Influenster the other day and I want to quickly highlight two products that were so good I have incorporated them into my routine. I also want to apologize in advanced...I am single and live alone so I do not have any pictures of me using either product. But at this point you should probably be realizing that I'm pretty direct and forward so you can trust what I'm saying. This NYX Worth the Hype mascara is everything! I am a loyal NYX Matte Lipstick user but I've never ventured outside of their lip products. Let me tell you, I have been missing out. This mascara is lightweight but still super volumizing and I swear it looks like my lashes grew by 50%. Best of all is that it doesn't get itchy. You know when you wear mascara and by the end of the day you find yourself trying to pick out your lashes because the mascara has started to get uncomfortable? Well that hasn't happened with this product and I've been wearing it everyday for the past 2 weeks. I highly recommend trying this mascara, it is $8 you will no regret spending. The second product I want to highlight is the KORRES Pomegranate AHA & Enzyme Resurfacing mask. I've recently started overhauling my skincare routine (blog post to come) and I was excited to try this product. I have been searching for a mask to incorporate. Well, I'm sold. I had pretty low expectations since the instructions say to apply a thin layer and to only leave it on for 3 minutes. However, this stuff is wicked! You definitely can apply as the directions instruct. I've been using the mask about 2 times a week and my skin is revitalized. My skin is smoother, my complexion is more even, and my pores have really shrunk.
The mask is on the expensive side for me at $34 for a full sized tube but I think the results make it completely worth it.

Thanks to Influenster I am continuing my journey of pretending to be a former bachelor contestant. Fun Facts: after seeing me at a formal wedding a couple of weekends ago, a group of friends has decided that I 100% need to go on the show and they want to submit me...we'll see if that goes anywhere. Today I'm going to briefly review the L'Oreal Elvive Oil that was sent to me by Influenster for testing purposes. This is a leave in hair treatment that the company claims "hydrates and nourishes to transform dry, lifeless hair to soft and lustrous". Basically the are claiming that this product will hydrate and repair your dead looking hair and that it will do so in one use. So here we go, I don't have a good hair picture...I am not skilled in that department so you are going to have to trust me. It works! I've used the product on both wet and dry hair and each time it truly has given my hair new life. My hair feels softer, smoother, and my frizz level decreased 10 fold ( obviously I didn't actually measure this but it was good)
Now, I have used other products that do the same thing but the Elvive oil has one thing on top of them, grease. Every hair oil I have ever used has ultimately made my hair greaser and then forced me to wash my hair more than the 1-2 times a week I am comfortable with. That is not the case for the Elvive oil. Even though it's an oil and it does all of those things, it does not make your hair greaser. So here it is, I am a convert. When I run out of this bottle I'm buying a new one. NIVEA IN-SHOWER BODY LOTION- $2.49So I walked into this product with no expectations. I was excited to try the in-shower body lotion because I love anything that saves me time. If this product meant I could skip the after shower moisturizing step then I was all in. Pros: My skin was super soft after using this product. I have pretty dry skin so the fact that the moisture seemed to last for a few days was incredibly impressive. Cons: This product did not saves me time. The in-shower lotion had so much potential but when I read that I had to rinse my tub with hot water to remove the residue and prevent slipping I was just about ready to throw the bottle out. When I used it, I felt the residue on the tub. What's worse is I felt the same residue on my hands and I couldn't get rid of it. Overall: The amount of time I spent rinsing the tub and washing my hands ended up taking longer than if I had just done my post shower moisturizing. I do not recommend this product. NYAKIO KENYAN COFFEE FACE POLISH- $32Fun Fact: I LOVE coffee but had to give it up a few years ago so now I live for a coffee skin product
Pros: When I washed off the scrub it felt like someone had opened my pores and breathed new life into them. Cons: I could feel the beads exfoliating my face but once I rinsed the scrub off my skin didn't feel any more smooth then before. Overall: I don't believe this product is worth the price, if it was $5 then I may incorporate it into my routine. So a quick update on the dry shampoo and nail masques. It has been 3 days now and my cuticles are still so healthy! I take back what I said, I would 100% purchase the 7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques if I could get to a Walmart. As for the Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo, it is a winner. The morning after I applied it I was greeted with a heavenly sent and hair that could keep on going. You can pick up a bottle here. RIMMEL SCANDALEYES MICRO LIQUID EYELINER- $5.99 *Once again I got this from Influenster ( see here) for free to test and review Background So I was pretty excited to tryout this liquid eyeliner. I mean two of Rimmel's ambassadors are Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne, so it had to be good right? We all know people sign onto these things because they are passionate about the product not just the money they will make. It is obvious Kendall Jenner was so blinded by her love of Pepsi that she totally misjudged how appropriated the commercial plot line was. Tangent: I love Kendall Jenner. I thing she is absolutely gorgeous and I love how much she has not turned into a completely different looking person since her childhood. I am not a Kardashian follower but I do follow Kendall. Back on Topic: I will preface my review by acknowledging that I am not some make-up magician and it routinely takes me a couple of tries to get things right. Pros: I love that this liquid eyeliner has more of a marker tip than a paint brush tip. It felt like I had a huge amount of control. The pigment glides on very smoothly and dries fast. Additionally the physical pen part that you hold onto had a great diameter. I feel like no one ever thinks about this but if its too small or too big the pen can be hard to maintain control of; this was Goldilocks, just right. Cons: The pigment, although black, is not very dark so I had to go over it many times. Unfortunately, the need to repeat my motions exponentially increased the chance that I was going to make a mistake. I also found that if the previous layer hadn't dried, then I ended up taking it off on my next pass. What was the most frustrating, however, is that the packaging states "smudge proof" and it most certainly was not. I was getting black on my fingers and all over my face throughout the day. Overall: I would use this again. I really like the control that I had over the tool and as long as I remember not to touch my face, smudging isn't an issue. This would definitely be good for a night out as the eyeliner seemed to stay put as I sweated. You can purchase it here. RIMMEL OH MY GLOSS! OIL TINT - $5.47So like I explained above, obviously high expectations due to the selection of brand ambassadors. Pros: This lip gloss glides on super smooth and doesn't feel sticky. I usually avoid glosses because of the sticky feeling and then my hair and pollen and whatever else is flying through the wind gets caught in it. But that didn't happen with this gloss! I also really like that the gloss is relatively transparent. The shade I got was 600-Orange Mode and the slight orange tint really enhanced my natural lip color. My lips also feel like they have been plumped up with loads of moisture. Cons: The gloss leaves behind a really shiny sheen and its simply not my style Overall: I probably wouldn't purchase this product because its not my style but I highly recommend it for anyone who does appreciate a shiny lip quality. You can get it here. Thanks for stopping by and reading Part 2 of my reviews. Part 3, the final part, will be coming shortly!
This here is my first post about getting free shit and promoting it, just like all those girls who were on the Bachelor. *It says on the card that I have to say I got this free for testing purposes...so here it is I got my Poppy VoxBox from Influenster today. Not sure who is familiar with Influenster but I love it, check out why here. 7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques - $3.97Pros: These were like little masks for my finger tips. I loved that the moisturizer was only on the inside of the individual pouches so I felt I could still do something while I pampered my cuticles, I am all about multitasking. It's been approximately 4 hours since I removed the pouches and my fingers, in particular my cuticles, still feel luxuriously soft. This is major for me! I have perpetually dry and peeling cuticles, side effect of my seasonal allergy meds, so not being able to see a piece of skin to pull on is revolutionary! Another important note: You can get them at Walmart! Now don't go running away just because I'm excited about everyone's favorite store to hate. No matter what your feelings are, it is cheap and convenient and frankly the only option in some parts of the country. That is unless you live in Washington, DC, then it is not convenient but it is most definitely still cheap. But I digress... Cons: The smell of the cream, although not foul, was not pleasing and now my hands are stuck smelling this way; even after washing them. Although I was able to play a TV show on my laptop, I see you Real Housewives of Atlanta, there wasn't much else I could accomplish. The pouches are bulky and really restrict the level of precision your hands can perform at. I don't think this is a design flaw I just think it is in the nature of this type of product. So basically you just need to have the 15 minutes to sit there and do nothing with your hands. Overall: If you're the type of person that is into home pampering this is your product. The smell is mild enough that I could get over it, I just don't want to at this point in time. Personally I wouldn't purchase this product. As a broke graduate student there isn't much room in my budget for unnecessary things and I rather spend the money on a multi-use item (jewelry, maybe) and then pray my usual moisturizer does the trick. And if I did have the money to spare I would probably just save up until I could get a manicure. That being said I know at least 15 people who would be in love with this product. Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo - $11.99Pros: It smells like heaven and it reduced the greasy appearance of my hair
Cons: It took a fair amount of effort to get the white residue to go away Overall: I'd buy it. Lets be honest it made my hair smell magical and as someone who washes their hair as little as possible that is life changing! Stay Tuned for an update on cuticle softness and the other products I received in the VoxBox |
